This reminds me of many, many, many years ago when I heard that some scientists were working on square tomatoes. There was even a concern that, being easier to pack and less susceptible to bruising, the square tomatoes would create a tomato surplus. Apparently it was not to be. It's nice to see they've perfected it with watermelons, though it clearly hasn't resulted in a watermelon surplus. Not yet, anyway.
